PickIt - Task-Oriented User Interface for Smartphones

Page Content:

About

With PickIt you can upload photos to a Media Server, browse through its content and show pictures, listen to music or watch movies from the Media Server through the Media Renderer. PickIt shows an example of task-based user interfaces.

PickIt makes your smartphone a controller for your UPnP Media Server and Media Renderer devices. PickIt is based on the Universal Control Hub Architecture and the Universal Remote Console (URC) framework. It runs on the Windows Mobile platform, and connects to the Universal Control Hub which functions as a control point for UPnP AV devices in the local network.

PickIt demonstrates the versatility of the Universal Control Hub architecture, supporting various mobile devices to function as controllers for existing Targets. Target vendors can deploy their user interfaces (in different formats) to the MyURC resource server where they will be picked up by the Universal Control Hub and eventually rendered on appropriate controller devices.
